Sikafloor® -619
Low viscosity epoxy impregnation
Product
Description
Sikafloor® -619 is a two part very low viscosity, solvent containing epoxy
impregnation material. When brushed or rolled over cured concrete, Sikafloor® -619
impregnates the concrete to provide a surface with increased hardness and
resistance to moisture penetration.
Uses
Sikafloor® -619 can be used as a sealer and surface hardener for
cementitious materials in:

Plant rooms

Warehouse and workshop floors

Structures exposed to extreme weather conditions

Marine structures
Characteristics /
Advantages

Sikafloor® -619 is easy to mix – at 1: 1 by volume ratio between components

Low viscosity for deep penetration (viscosity close to that of water)

Fast application

Reduces dusting and thus, easier cleaning of slabs

Increased resistance to abrasion, de-icing salts and mild chemicals

Enhanced resistance to oils, gasoline, kerosene, alkalis, acids, Organic and
inorganic salts and staining from spillage.

Increased impermeability of concrete reduces rate of penetration and
waterborne contaminants such as chlorides

Sikafloor® -619 is not a coating, therefore nothing to peel or flake off

Consumption / Dosage
3 – 6 m2 per litre per coat (typical concrete)
7 – 8 m2 per litre per coat (very dense concrete)
2 – 3 coats required
Substrate Quality
The concrete substrate must be sound and of sufficient compressive strength
(minimum 25 N/mm2 ) with a minimum pull off strength of 1.5 N/mm2 .
The substrate must be clean, dry and free of all contaminants such as dirt, oil,
grease, coatings and surface treatments, etc.
If in doubt apply a test area first.
Application
Instructions
Mixing
Mixing Ratio: Parts A : B = 1 : 1 by volume
The resin (Part A) and the hardener (Part B) are mixed in equal Proportions by
volume. When required for application, the total contents should be poured into a
bucket and thoroughly mixed using a low speed (500 rpm maximum) mixer in a well
ventilated area, to prevent solvent from build-up, until it is homogeneous.
Leave for one hour before using.
Application Method
/Tools
Horizontal Surface
Sikafloor® -619 should be poured on to the prepared surface and spread
evenly with a soft brush, avoiding the formation of puddles. As much material
should be applied as the surface will absorb without any excess material on
the surface. The correct application rate will depend very much upon the
porosity of the concrete and should be determined on a small test area prior
to large scale application.
A second coat should be similarly applied 12 – 24 hours after application of the first
coat. A third coat may be necessary to give the required in-surface seal on porous
substrates but on typical good quality dense concrete, two coats will normally
be adequate.
It is important that the area is well ventilated to allow sufficient evaporation of the
solvent, particularly at low application temperatures.
Vertical Surface
Sikafloor® -619 can be brush or rolled applied. In well ventilated areas, Sikafloor® -
619 can be sprayed using a low pressure spray gun starting from the top
and progressively working down the application. Wear protective gear when
carrying out spray operations.
Cleaning of Tools
Clean all tools and application equipment with thinner immediately after use.
Hardened and/or cured material can only be mechanically removed.
Potlife
~ 8 hours (at +25°C)
Notes on Application /
Limitations
Do not thin Sikafloor® -619.
Application at temperatures below +5°C is not recommended.
Sikafloor® -619 is flammable and contains volatile solvents. It is essential that
during application, the area is well ventilated to prevent the build-up of
solvent fumes.
Paintwork and plastic fittings should be protected.
Finished surface is slightly glossy.
Relative Humidity at time of application must not exceed 90%.
Deteriorating, disintegrating or poor concrete surface cannot be made good with
this application alone. 3
